Mama Lil's Pickled Pepper and Prosciutto Pinwheels
These pinwheels are a savory and delicious appetizer that's perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto
- 1/4 cup Mama Lil's pickled peppers, diced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thickness.
- Arrange the prosciutto slices over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced pickled peppers, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle the filling over the prosciutto.
- Starting from one edge, tightly roll up the puff pastry to form a log.
- Brush the outside of the log with the beaten egg.
- Slice the log into 1/2-inch pinwheels and place them on a baking sheet.
- Brush the pinwheels with the remaining egg.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the pinwheels are golden brown and puffed. 11. Serve immediately.
