Mildly Spicy Pickled Peppers in Oil (Original) - 12oz.

Mama Lil's Mildly Spicy Pickled Peppers in Oil are the perfect balance of rich, ripe pepper flavor and a kick of heat! Our original Mildly Spicy Peppers in oil are pickled Hungarian "Goathorn" wax peppers packed in a savory herb oil blend with a touch of garlic. Describing natural pepper heat is subjective, but our Mildly Spicy peppers tend to be about as hot as medium salsa.  

Our Mildly Spicy peppers are a great addition to pizza, pasta, sandwiches, eggs, salads, almost everything! Try our favorite easy appetizer, a good baguette with goat cheese (or cream cheese) and Mama Lil's! And don't forget to use the oil! It's like a second product for sautéing, drizzled over roasted veggies, sauces, aioli, and dressings.

Mama Lil's is committed to using quality natural ingredients and still uses Mama Lil's original recipes in our products. Most of the farms we work with in Washington's Yakima Valley have grown our peppers for over 20 years. We've been making Mama Lil's with our co-packer in Sunnyside, WA, since the late 1990s when the growing popularity of Mama Lil's at farmers markets and natural grocery stores outpaced production capability in a church basement.

What foods can I pair with Mama Lil's peppers and pepper condiments?

Just about EVERYTHING! We like to say Mama Lil's peppers "make the ordinary extraordinary!" They add a delicious pop of ripe red pepper heat to your favorite pizza, pasta, salad, sandwiches, hor d'oeuvres, cheese, charcuterie platters, steak, chicken, pork, fish, eggs, and much more. The possibilities are endless!  

And don't forget to use the savory oil from Mildly Spicy and Kick Butt peppers. We use the oil to saute, drizzle over roasted veggies, and in aioli and sauces. We've even used the oil in a spicy chocolate cake and it was delicious!

Our customers rave about the Bread and Butter Pickles and Peppers on burgers and the Peppalilli mustard relish is fantastic with cheese or charcuterie or potato salad.

How long is the shelf life?

A: 
One of the great benefits of pickled products is their long shelf life. Mama Lil's products have three to four-year unopened best-by dates and can be kept refrigerated for six months to a year after opening. In our experience, they become such a part of everyday food prep that you'll be cracking open a new jar before you know it!

Pickle Facts 101: For over 3000 years, pickling has been one of the best ways to preserve foods. Brining vegetables in an acid bath (vinegar) naturally prevents bacterial growth.
